Glacioclasm

The Glacioclasm is a High-Impact Frame Fusion Rifle released for the first time in The Dawning, 2020 (Y4 S12). The 2021 Glacioclasm can now roll the new S15 perk Harmony and Loaded Question’s Reservoir Burst.

TL;DR - Null Composure (the S14 Pinnacle Weapon) is a better choice than Glacioclasm. Yes, taken in isolation, Glacioclasm is powerful and if Null Compsure weren’t in the game and accessible to everyone with a phenomenal curated roll, I would be suggesting you farm a great Glacioclasm. Glacio is not worth chasing for PvE or PvP with this the recent change to a 1s charge time and this year’s Dawning perk pool.

At the start of Season of the Lost (S15), Fusion Rifles were dramatically reworked (details here). From the TWAB:

High Impacts charge slower, and while still strong require more planning to use effectively. > * Base charge time increased from 0.86s to 1.0s. > * Shots per burst reduced from seven to five. > * Reduced total damage per burst. > * In playtesting, we’ve found that charging these in the open is super risky, but pre-charging around corners or otherwise in safety is very effective. > * With the reduced shots per burst, these are now less reliant on Stability, so can stack a bit more Range. Backup Plan, the once-savior of slow-charging High-Impact Fusions was also changed: Backup Plan’s implementation was incompatible with the Fusion Rifle changes, and we felt like the perk could use a rework anyway. > * Removed +100 to charge time stat > * Adjusted charge time multiplier from 0.85 to 0.7 > * Damage scaled by 0.8. These changes effectively removed High-Impact Frame fusions from viability in PvP due to the 25% slower charge time and the fact that Backup Plan on a High-Impact results in a charge time only slightly faster than its previous base, which was already lengthy. I mean, they certainly work and can map at times, but are incredibly difficult to use in CQC due to the charge time. PvE on the other hand… Glacioclasm Might Just Be a Pinnacle Weapon (Loaded Question But Better)… but maybe not?

This is useful when burning through adds where kills are keeping your magazine topped off and Reservoir Burst active constantly.

Similar to the above but we’re using Slideshot which requires you to slide to refill the mag after each shot. This can work against chunkier enemies but you’re going to be repositioning like a maniac during those encounters, which isn’t super optimal.
